Open Air Dining

Out-of-doors dining is also part of the authentic fishing experience at Awashish Outdoor Adventures. At noon, take a break on the river’s shore to cook up some of your morning   catches, and get ready for a traditional “shore lunch.” Sit down, relax, and watch how your guides transform your fish into a succulent meal.

“Shore lunch” is a time during which you will savour fresh fish in a unique northern décor. Today’s menu? Today’s catch, fresh potatoes, and onions, browned in olive oil. You will undoubtedly ask for seconds.

Filleting the Fish

Back to base camp means back to work for our guides. After a long day of fishing, they set up their work stations in the “Fish House.” There, they gut, clean, and fillet the fish (this final step is especially reserved for the yellow walleye). The meat is then wrapped and frozen, so our guests leave with fresh, quality fish, which they can enjoy at home.
