Experience how we live on the land, learn about our
culture and traditions. We the Awashish family invites
you to come & live with us on our territory in the James
Bay region of Northern Quebec.

staged show or an artificial village with costumes… but the actual
camps and traditional dwellings we occupy every season in
order to
practice a wide variety of our traditional activities like
hunting, trapping and fishing around
our
beautiful family
territory
in James Bay. You will
witness and
accompany us
hunting, trapping
and participate
in the cleaning activities involved for all the games.
You can also fish if you
are in the outfitting zone during the fishing season.
Unique opportunities to discover
our traditional ways. Cooking over an open campfire, sampling
traditional cuisine such as native bread, smoked fish or game. Sit
by the fire and share our stories, legends and knowledge of the
land.
Drumming
and understanding the skills required to make useful crafts can be
experienced upon request. Highlight however remains being
totally connected to nature, recognizing the value of plants
for medicinal purposes, while engaging in traditional subsistence
activities.
Since you will
be on a leisurely holiday
what do you think about an open-schedule? No pre-plan, no
program, we just follow your curiosity and your interests
in harmony with the seasonal weather. We will customize your trip
to your expectations and make sure you feel satisfied upon your
